"A big THANK YOU to Jeff Mery @fattire who came out for the weekend for an in-person calibrated of our acoustically very difficult open concept living room. It was great meeting him in person and getting to see him work his magic via the Trinnov Optimizer, REW, SMAART, Harbottle’s All-DSP, MiniDSP, etc.
The sonic difference after this weekend’s calibration is an incredible improvement from the simple Wizard calibration that was completed over the phone last year when I received my Alt16. Music is much more lifelike now with a sense of separated instruments being located in and around the room. In side by side listening tests, the bass previously seemed to be coming from around the room where now it is focused and precise. Prior to his work, the sound stage sounded flat against the front wall and now it’s as if the wall is not there due to a perceived enormous depth and pinpoint phantom center performer in 2Ch. The impact is sublime.
Also, having the Harbottle certified calibrator (Jeff) tune my setup came with an unexpected benefit, one additional year of Harbottle warranty. Love it!
